Le 24 juin, à Poitiers, EW a fêté la 7è édition de sa Fête Annuelle de la Solidarité. Le temps était radieux - ce qui n'allait pas sans dire ! - et nos membres, amis et sympathisants ont largement participé pour faire en sorte que cette journée soit une belle réussite. (Nous avons fait une bonne recette pour un après-midi et 100% de tous les bénéfices seront rétrocédés à nos programmes à l'étranger).

Ce fut l'occasion de nous retrouver autour d'un pot offert par l'association. Par ailleurs, nous avons proposé de l'artisanat, de la brocante, des gâteaux faits maison, une pêche à la ligne, une tombola et de nombreux produits EW (bourse aux , chutney, etc)...

Mais la belle qualité de cette rencontre était due, en grande partie, au dévouement et aux multiples talents des uns et des autres. La préparation, l'organisation générale, la vente de billets de tombola, la tenue des stands, le nettoyage ont demandé beaucoup d'énergie. Merci à tous !

Toute notre gratitude également à Monique pour sa démonstration dans le cadre de Récré à Patch et à tous les jeunes de Soleil Vert - représentés par Charlotte et Paul, moteurs du groupe. Ces lycéens, dans le cadre d'un projet tutoré ont récolté 500 € pour le financement d'un système de récupération d'eau pluviale dans le sud de l'Inde. Bravo !

Et EW tient tout particulièrement à remercier les artistes qui nous ont proposé un très riche programme culturel. Sans leurs heures de travail, cette journée n'aurait pas eu non plus son caractère exceptionnel. (Dans l'ordre de passage) :

ENGLISH-LANGUAGE VERSION :
7th Annual Solidarity Festival (6-24-12) - Poitiers
On June 24th, in Poitiers (France), EW celebrated its 7th Annual Solidarity Festival. The weather was great - which was no foregone conclusion ! Our members and friends and supporters were out in large numbers, helping to make the day a real success. (A nice "purse" for an afternoon - and 100% of all proceeds will be retroceded to our programs abroad).

This was an opportunity for everyone to get together and enjoy refreshments offered by EW. In addition, the association sold handicrafts and home-made food products, had a plant-exchange, sold "collectibles", had a fish-pond for the kids, organized a raffle...

But the outstanding quality of this event was due to a large extent to the numerous talents and dedication of all those participating - preparation and general organization, selling raffle tickets, manning a stand, clean-up - all these activities take considerable amount of time and energy. A huge hats-off to everyone involved !

EW would also like to express its gratitude to Monique for her patchwork demo, and to all the high-school students from the group Soleil Vert (represented by Charlotte and Paul). Within the framework of an EW humanitarian partnership, the students collected 500 € to finance a rain-water harvesting system for a village in Tamil Nadu. Bravo !
