Partenariat Pédagogique EW - GEA / Institut de Gestion de l'Université de Poitiers

EW, il y a quelques années déjà, a établi un partenariat pédagogique avec le Département de Gestion de l'IUT de Poitiers ("GEA").  Tous les ans des membres de notre association encadrent un "projet tutoré" pour des groupes d'étudiants particulièrement intéressés par le milieu humanitaire.  Cela leur permet de peaufiner leurs compétences (plan de marketing, gestion de projet, organisation d'événements, communication externe, etc) - et ceci autour d'une action de vente, au profit de notre association. Cette année, c'est avec un grand plaisir que nous travaillons avec Charlotte, Claire, Léna et Yann - tous très motivés ! EW leur donne la parole :

"Nous sommes quatre étudiants de l’IUT-GEA. Nous avons choisi de nous orienter vers un Dilpôme d'Université "Gestion des Entreprises et des Administrations" afin de découvrir le fonctionnement et l’environnement des entreprises. Pour des raisons géographiques, nous avons choisi d’étudier à l’IUT de Poitiers étant donné que nous venons tous les quatre du Poitou-Charentes. De plus, Poitiers est une ville très  attractive pour les étudiants.

Nous sommes en deuxième année de formation et nous avons dû nous spécialiser dans un domaine bien particulier en choisissant une option à l’issue de la première année. En ce qui concerne trois d’entre nous, nous avons opté pour l’option "Finance-Comptabilité" étant donné notre attirance pour les chiffres et l’actualité. Cependant, Claire Demange a préféré se diriger vers l’option "Ressources Humaines" puisqu’elle est attirée par le côté relationnel au sein des entreprises.

Dans le cadre de notre deuxième année universitaire, un projet tutoré doit être réalisé par nos propres soins. Parmi une liste comprenant une trentaine de projets, nous avons sélectionné un projet en particulier centré sur l’humanitaire. Ignorant le domaine associatif, nous avons désiré le découvrir. Par ailleurs, le coté humanitaire de l’association nous a tout particulièrement attirés. En effet, participer et proposer notre aide à une association est très important pour nous. Etre solidaires face à des populations pauvres ou sinistrées nous paraît indispensable pour répondre aux divers besoins de ces populations. Nous sommes ravis de pouvoir  nous impliquer personnellement en vendant des sacs pour récolter le plus d’argent possible pour l’association. Cette vente de sacs nous amène à développer différentes stratégies de vente. Ce projet relevant du monde associatif nous permettra également d’acquérir de nouvelles connaissances en matière de fonctionnement et d’organisation d’une association humanitaire. Cette dernière nous apporte beaucoup dans le cadre de notre formation mais également d’un point de vue personnel. C’est une expérience très intéressante et enrichissante. Nous ne regrettons absolument pas d’avoir choisi de travailler pour une association à but humanitaire.

      EW, outre ses conseils prodigués lors de réunions fréquentes avec le groupe, a bien intégré ces jeunes dans la vie de notre association, où tous les membres apprécient leur motivation et leur ouverture d'esprit.  De plus, EW va faire bénéficier ces étudiants de journées de formation qui vont avoir lieu d'ici fin janvier - sur les thèmes de la fiscalité des associations et de l'animation d'un réseau.  Une fois qu'ils auront vendus un stock de sacs au profit de EW, ils seront également invités à choisir dans quel programme à l'étranger ils souhaitent investir les fonds recueillis

Pedagogical Partnership between EW and the University of Poitiers' Management Department

           Several years ago, EW established a pedagogical partnership with the Management Department of the University of Poitiers ("GEA").  Every year, EW members oversee a Student Project for those students who are particularly interested in humanitarian activities.  Truth be told, the skill set necessary for business or for any humanitarian group is virtually the same - the only difference being that any "profits" are re-invested for a social cause rather than being siphoned off for stock-holders. So this year a highly motivated group of four - Charlotte, Claire, Léna and Yann - will be working selling EW jute and cotton bags, and simultaneously honing their abilities to draft a marketing plan, work on external communication, set up events, etc.  Here is a word directly from the GEA students :

          "The four of us are from the University of Poitiers' GEA - Management Department.  We decided to enroll in this program as it allows us to discover the world of business.  All of us chose the University of Poitiers as we are all locals - coming from the Poitou-Charentes region. Moreover, Poitiers is a great place for students to study !

          We are sophomores - and all had to choose a specialization at the end of our freshman year.  3 of us chose "Finance and Accounting", although one of us preferred "Human Resources" for its more inter-relational aspects.

          Within the framework of our current coursework, every GEA student must complete some kind of Student Project - some concrete activity to be carried out under the supervision of specialists.  There were some 30 different projects that were offered to us and we chose EW's humanitarian project. Real hands-on experience and the ability to be of real use were important to us. International solidarity with the world's disadvantaged populations is vital to us.  So we are very excited to be able to help sell bags so as to earn a maximum amount of funds for EW - and this opportunity will allow us to gain important marketing skills as well as insight into humanitarian activities. This will all be a big plus in terms of our overall university coursework, and will also help broaden our personal horizons.  

         This is proving to be a very interesting and enriching experience - and we certainly have absolutely no regrets about having chosen to be partners with EW !   - Charlotte, Claire, Léna, Yann"

          EW, in addition to helping students realize their Student Project with numerous tutorials held at the Univeristy, is also happy to fully integrate the students into the life of the association - where all members have greatly appreciated their motivation and openmindedness.  In addition, EW will be taking everyone along to participate in some formal inter-association training sessions that will be held between now and the end of January around the themes of Fiscal Issues for Associations and Animating a Humanitarian Network.  And once the students will have completed their sales project for EW, they will be free to earmark their funds, choosing the EW program abroad that they would like to subsidize.
