     Bonjour à tous, et bonne rentrée...

     EW était de relâche pendant le mois d'août, sans que le travail en cours cesse : suivi administratif pour la Région Poitou-Charentes (subvention en cours pour le "Projet Ooranie"), contacts avec les programmes, activités de la rentrée à organiser, y compris le partenariat avec l'IUT de Gestion de l'Université de Poitiers.

Artisanat - Pâte à Sel / Salt-Dough Handicrafts for Sale

     EW était présente aux côtés de son partenaire, Coeur en Pâte, lors de la grande fête du dimanche 8 septembre qui se déroulait sur la commune de St. Benoît, à quelques kilomètres de Poitiers.

     Après un pique-nique champêtre, les 150-200 participants ont été régalés avec des contes d'antan, des lectures de poésies, et des saynètes de théâtre - interprétées par Benoît, Brigitte et Betty.  Ont été proposés à la vente boissons et gâteaux, livres, boutures, et surtout tout le bel artisanat produit par les membres de Coeur en Pâte.  Chapeau, tout particulièrement à Cathy, pour sa belle énergie et ses talents d'organisatrice et de créatrice !

Summer Vacation is Over !

     Hello, everyone !

 

        Hope you have all had a nice summer holiday... EW, as you know, was on vacation over the month of August, although this was something of a "working vacation".  There was the administrative follow-up concerning the subsidies for the "Ooranie Project" in Tamil Nadu, as well as ongoing contacts with foreign partners and organizing fall activities - including the EW partnership with the Management Department of the University of Poitiers...

          But the kick-off to the new school year really began this last Sunday, 8 September, with EW's participation in the annual festival of its sister association here in France, Coeur en Pâte.  This was held in St. Benoît, a little village just a few miles outside of town.

     

              Some 150-200 guests, after a picnic lunch on the grounds, were regaled with a number of spectacles : a story-teller with tales of country life in bygone days (including bits of "patois" - or non-French country dialect), a poetry reading, and some theater sketches put on by Benoît, Brigitte and Betty.

     There were cakes and drinks for sale, along with a fish-pond, a book stall, a plant sale, and of course the sale of all of the association's salt-dough products.  A particular hat's off to Cathy, for her incredible energy and organizing skills, her talent and incredible creativity.  The day was a huge success.
